According to Comr Okoh Ezekiel ” The need to get a skill by graduating students in tertiary institutions, is paramount in complimenting to the Okowa gospel of job creation.

One week after the Government of the day was sworn in, in May 29,2015, a bill was sent to the Delta state House of Assembly, for the establishment of the Delta State Job Creation office, with the objective of training youths, to acquire skills, that will enable them to be self dependent and employer’s of Labour, and also poisoning their mindset against the syndrome of ‘Government will provide job for us’ thereby putting unnecessary pressure on the state government.

It may Interest us to know that, the streets are flooded with hundreds of thousands of able bodied graduates of Tertiary Institutions, all scatting for non-existent white collar job. This situation has happened because the tertiary institutions over the years lacks the curriculum that encompasses training on Skills Development and Entrepreneurship. This alone has made graduate to depend more on their certificate rather than looking Inward to development of skills”

Ossai Ovie also said , “The era of hoping on white Collar jobs is over. We all needs skills, the Skills Acquisition Awareness Program is coming as a result of the rate of unemployments in the country and the ideology that has been sold out to the citizens before now that Government is meant to provide Jobs for all.

Skill is very important in the life of every human.

The reason many technicians earn more than some university graduates is that, the technicians acquire more practical skills than the theories, unlike the graduates who were fed with theoretical experiences while in the universities.

Skills can take you to places you do not expect you will find yourself.

Skill acquisition is the ability to be trained on a particular task or function to become an expert in it.

It is a pity that there are huge number of unemployed graduates in many parts of the world today, especially in Nigeria.

This is giving many unemployed youths in different parts of the world today, sleepless nights. The unemployment is the major causes of rapid growth in crime in many parts of the world. while calling on students of various institutions to look into skills acquisition programs.

It is on the basis of the above tragedy, abnormalies, and in a bid to curb social menace, which is usually the fall-out of a crowded unemployed society, that the Political Aides on Students’ Affairs and Special duties (Media) Comr Ossai Ovie Success have decided to take the Okowa’s SMART Agenda of Job Creation to the Students.
