EKITI 2018: AMBITION, GREED OR VENGEANCE

Let me congratulate Dr John Kayode Fayemi for finally summoning up enough courage to declare his intention to contest the May 5 APC governorship primary election with other credible and if not better qualified aspirants.

I was disappointed because I could not see ambition in the face of Dr Fayemi yesterday, what I saw was a man already consumed himself over others.

Let me take it for what he called it Ambition! But it is an unguided ambition that might be self defeating and destructive.

it always come to a point in ones life when you must choose between self and others but you choose others not because you are unwise but because of the greater good of the majority .

I see a man that has chosen to swim against the tide. Fayemi is not perfect but he is a good Man who has lost his goodwill with Ekiti populace, and Politics 101 tells me that Goodwill above money is the wing on which successful politician fly.

My common sense which I will put to good use If I were him is to focus on his national assignment, consciously work to regain the lost Goodwill before venturing into an elective contest in Ekiti.

I want to say very clearly that his declaration is a good development that has no negative hold on my aspiration. Most importantly, the yearnings of the people to elect a leader with fresh and achievable narrative which I represent.

Let me allay the fears of our party faithfuls who have been expressing concerns over the credibility of the primary election with Dr Kayode Fayemi in the race. While Dr Fayemi has downplayed the interest of the party and the majority, it is still his constitutional right to contest though it is been exercised with insensitivity, arrogance and greed. However, it is a known fact that Ekiti APC is not about one man.

I therefore welcome him on board and advise him to play by the rules as any attempt to do otherwise will be more damming.
