Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom State Governor on Media and Academic Scholar, Dr. Eneh John, on Tuesday , September 16, 2025, donated 500 copies of exercise books and 30 pairs of sandals to pupils of Salvation Army Primary School, Ikot Uso Ekong, Eket.
Presenting the items to pupils of the school, Dr.Eneh said, the donation was in support of the Governor’s ARISE AGENDA in education, and to also celebrate the 50th birthday of Hon. Frank Archibong, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, who turned 50 on August 19, 2025.

“We can see what the Governor is doing for Akwa Ibom people, touching lives in rural areas and beyond, so I decided to give back to pupils in my community Primary school, which will go a long way to ameliorate the challenges of those who cannot afford these items and by extension, celebrate the 50th birthday of a man, on whose benevolence I hold a Masters and PhD degrees today, Hon. Frank Archibong.
This exercise was to be done last year, but my father passed on, and I had to suspend it to finish the burial and I believe
that I’ll do more than giving sandals and books in my next programme for my people in Eket,” the Governor’s Special Assistant stated.
I’m surprised that there are pupils who didn’t have sandals, and that’s what I came to see here, I thank God that this donation has gone a long way, Dr. Eneh concluded.
Some of the pupils who spoke, prayed for Governor Umo Eno, Frank Archibong and the Governor’s Aide, for remembering them at this time, during resumption of school.
A pupil of the school, Ikake Abasi appreciated Governor Umo Eno for the donation through his Aide, and said the pupils were grateful.
Reacting, Headmistress of Salvation Army Primary School, Ikot Uso Ekong, Mrs. Assamudo Otu, said she was delighted that the Governor’s Aide who is from the community has thought it wise to give back to the pupils, and demonstrate the love that the Governor has been showing in other places.
Present at the donation were, the Ward Chairman of APC in Central 3, Mr. Samuel Ataikim, PDP Ward Chairman, Mr. Victor Udoyo, Mr. Monday Ekpeyong, Mr. Essien Essien, Peter Philip.
