Barely 2 months to 2019 election, the unceasing scour for a credible candidate to represent the good people of Esit Eket and Ibeno in AKHA has finally ended in a gloomy fashion and unprecedented success. Over time, citizens of these oil rich regions have been in dare need of a youth friendly, transparent and altruistic representative; one who will bring more to the table in terms of infrastructural development, inclusive governance, youth/women empowerment, job creation, scholarships and manpower development.
Whereas for over 19 years, the political fortune of the constituency has been jeopardized and consigned to oblivion by PDP leaders and representatives with no blue print and meaningful antecedents, significantly the current USORO AKPANUSOH-LED ADMINISTRATION, and that the current APC candidate in the person of EYO INYANG ABIA has been found wanting and untrustworthy in previous leadership positions, the search for a new representative became imperative. On this premise, all youth leaders and political stalwarts from the 3 parties, with enough oomph, enthusiasm and clout converged and unanimously adopt NSIKANABASI ESE, THE YOUNG PROGRESSIVE PARTY (YPP) FLAG BEARER, as their preferred and sole candidate to represent Esit Eket/Ibeno in AKHA come 2019.
The epoch making event was graced by well meaning citizens, political leaders/stalwarts, youth chairmen/leaders drawn from both LGA and was regarded as first of its kind, geared towards bringing sanity and effective representation into the polity, and perhaps EE/Ibeno state constituency.
Speaking, the God’s elect, NSIKANABASI ESE, avowed the gesture and reiterated his desire to be fully committed to ensuring that the mandate of the youths bestowed on him is reciprocated and will be maximally utilized to repositioning the constituency to its lofty height. He promised to operate on the principle of true democracy, inclusive governance and unparalleled development by the grace of God.
Responding, Hon. Udi Philip representative of Zone A, Mr. Joseph Etuk, representative of Zone B (ward4) and Mr. Iboro Assan, representative of Zone C (ward 7) in Esit Eket expressed delight for the emergence of NSIKANABASI ESE, as one who will lead the way on behalf of the great sons and daughters of the constituency in lieu of other party candidates who have nothing to offer. They all vowed to be committed to the success of YPP at the poll in 2019, nothing that to support NSIKANABASI ESE means securing the future of the youths and generations yet unborn. They expressed dissatisfaction, tiredness and lack of faith in the current APC/PDP candidates, adding that with them the future of our youths will still remain bleak. In addition, the women leader/immediate past councillorship candidate of APC from Ibeno asserted that the best candidate has been adopted today and all youths must work effortlessly to ensuring his success if they want to be free from colonial masters.
Mr Samuel Etim, Esit Eket chapter chairmen of YPP and JC Tommy, Youth President of Ndoronkit, also spoke in affirmative, and called for effective mobilization/sensitization of youths in all wards across the constituency as a catholicon for success.
The high point of the event was the the provision of enough drinks and cash for unit coordination/mobilisation by AYP FLAG BEARER and rendition of a solidarity song to that effect, ably led by Sammy Young, the coordinator/moderator of the event, from Esit Eket Zone C and a vote of thanks by YPP flag bearer, NSIKANABASI ESE..
