Reports reaching Trail Reporters has confirmed that Jones Abiri, a Publisher and Editor in Chief of the Weekly Source newspaper has been released from detention after over 2 years in the detention facility of the State Security Services.
Few days ago, Nigerians had taken to the Social Media to demand for his release.
The Acting Director General of the State Security Services, Matthew Seyeifa, had said all cases of human rights abuses will be addressed.
Social Media users say, this was made possible by the public outcry. All Nigerians must unite against Buhari and ensure a tyrannical government like this is never elected again. One was quoted as saying.
