I’ve watched with dismay the primitive disposition of an opportunist who saw himself accidentally in the hallowed corridor of power but allowed his egocentric and arrogant traits rob him of a window of showcasing statesmanship, hence he refused to attend a national events that his colleagues from other states graced.
In the words of Plateau State governor , and I quote “there are some of my colleagues that are supposed to be here, but its unfortunate that they are not here” this was explicit enough to exposed the naked dance of a supposed democrat.
However, Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau described His Excellency, Obong Nsima Ekere as a true friend and a brother. He prayed that God should bless him and his family.
Obong Umana O. Umana also in his speech commended the NDDC Boss – Obong Nsima Ekere for working in accordance with his core mandate which enabled him in his first 3 months in office, bulldozers started moving all over Akwa Ibom State.
Some people instead of celebrating it, GOT ANGRY. Our people need development not endorsement for 2nd Term when you barely make any impact in your first term.
Obong Umana O. Umana collaborated with Governor Lalong’s averment and described Nsima Ekere as more of a brother than a friend.
The National Chairman of APC , Chief John Oyegun congratulated Obong Nsima Ekere and hoped he will continue to develop the Niger Delta. The Senate President , represented by Patrick Nwaoboshi( Chairman, Senate Committee on Niger Delta), said Ekere’s Thanksgiving Service symbolises unity as it brought together Nigerians from across ethnic and partisan lines.
The Thanksgiving Service showed that when we work together as a people with common zeal, we can make the quantum leap of bettering the lives and livelihood of Akwa Ibom people. Hunger, poverty, poor infrastructure, unemployment, diseases, lack of education and indignities can all be behind us if our leaders puts their targets right.
Harping on the flimsiest excuse of omission of “His Excellency” in Udom’s official nomenclature as the reason for refusing to attend an event he was officially invited erodes every ounce of excellency or honour in his appendage.
