The Chairman of Eket Local Government, Mr.Frank Archibong has confirmed the payment of June salaries for Local Government workers and teachers.
Speaking with newsmen yesterday when he received an excellence award from Grace Hospital Moses Enoidem Foundation, to mark the 3rd anniversary of the hospital, and the 54th birthday of the PDP National Legal Adviser, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem in Etim Ekpo, Frank Archibong, who doubles as the Chairman of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Akwa Ibom State, said the delay in the payment was caused by the discrepancies in revenue remittances that led to the deadlock in FAAC meetings.
He said, prompt payment of salaries for workers at the state and local government is in line with Gov.Udom’s administration’s resolve to change the face of governance at all levels.
“Everyone is aware that Governor Udom is conscientious, and a man with conscience can’t allow the people he had sworn to lead, to wallow in hunger and starvation”
“I appeal to mischief makers to desist from mudslinging of the administration, which is working assiduously to better the welfare of her workers and citizens at large.” Frank was quoted as saying.
He charged Workers at all levels, to give maximum support to the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
