It is with great shock that the Management, Staff and Players of Akwa United Football Club of Uyo received the sad news of the demise of Late Coach Kelechi Emetole who died on Wednesday in India.
In a release issued in Uyo yesterday, club chairman Paul Bassey said in Kelechi he suffered a personal loss.” He was a friend whose company was fun undiluted, a professional to the core, football was his first love outside his wonderful family”.
We commiserate with his family, the Nigeria Football Federation NFF and the entire football family over the passing of Late Coach Emetole who was a disciplinarian, dedicated, focused and goal oriented leader.
His death is a big loss to his family, the nation’s football family and many young footballers who would have benefitted from his wealth of experience.
We pray the good Lord to rest his soul and also grant his family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.
