ANGRY CAR DEALERS ALLEGEDLY SETS NIGERIAN CUSTOMS VEHICLE ABLAZE, AS OFFICERS ESCAPE DEATH

Reports reaching our news desk says that, men of the Nigerian custom service, yesterday, escaped death at Ungwan Sarki Kaduna, in Kaduna State, as informed sources said, two officers of the Nigeria custom service riding in an official hillux pickup yesterday, may 4, 2017, at about 3.30pm were attacked by some unknown young men.

Findings shows that the custom officers halted at the rabah road junction/traffic light, waiting for the the green light to move, when four young men alighted from motorcycles with clubs and machetes and attacked them.

Trail Reporters gathered that the driver and the custom officers, managed to escape, as people scampered for safety.

Pictures shows that, the custom’s vehicle was badly damaged.

We further gathered that , 45mins later, the young men returned with gasoline and set the vehicle ablaze.

A source said, this ugly incident may have heralded the beginning of hit-and – run war between the Nigerian Customs Service and some aggrieved car dealers.

Efforts to speak with the Customs Public Relations Officer were unsuccessful, as at the time of this report.
