Reports available to our news desk says, the Vice Chairman of Esit Eket, Mr.Samuel Itama was in the evening of yesterday, found with Mr.Aniekan Akpan, when they drove together to the State Security Service (SSS) office in Eket.
Reliable Sources told Trail Reporters that the Vice Chairman went with the former Eket Chairman, Aniekan Akpan, allegedly pay the agency for security cover for the rally of Buhari and Nsima Ekere, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Managing Director, which held today.
We gathered that, with the entrant of Bassey Dan Abia Snr, into the Governorship race, and coming from Esit Eket, the local government area of the Vice Chairman, he was accused of being sympathetic to the cause on ethnic basis, which one of our sources also said, he may work underground against the reelection of Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom.
Speaking with the Vice Chairman, Samuel Itama, he told one of our Reporters, that Aniekan Akpan had a flat tyre, and told him to take him (Aniekan) to Liverpool road in Eket, which he obliged.
He also stated that, he is a principal officer of the Divine Mandate in Esit Eket, a political group working for the reelection of the Akwa Ibom Governor, and could not work against the Governor.
