The front acing contender for the Abi/Yakurr house of representatives seat, who in recent times has seen the likes of heavy weights in person of Nkanu Eja, a strong force and contender for same position shelve his ambition and threw in his support for the Rt Hon, John Gaul Lebo. Who currently represents the good people of Abi in the State House of Assembly.
He doubles as the speaker of the 8th Cross river State House of Assembly, a House which is famous and widely adjudged as the most performing house in the country, evidently the house had just recently bagged an award, as the most performing House of Assembly. Along side the speaker who was voted the best speaker in the country.
Over the weekend, the Speaker was yet again endorsed by a second republic house of Representatives member who represented Abi and Yakurr federal constituency, chief Lekam Okoi, the veteran legislator applauded his political ideology and campaign Manifesto, tagged “New Direction in Legislative Governance”.
He was impressed at the speaker’s campaign manifesto, which the Speaker, John Gaul presented. And also following his (John Gaul) precedence as a leading legislator per excellence.
Excerpt from the exact words of John Gaul.
“The future of Democracy is the Legislature and the Future of the Legislature is Governance, legislations must become instruments that can facilitate Governance at community and Constituency level”.
He furthered his position by adding ” to facilitate Legislative Governance, we will introduce.
A Legislative direction and Agenda for Abi and Yakurr federal constituency, Constituency Trust Fund, Constituency Enterprise and innovation projects”. And also he added, we would introduce Constituency Governance through the constituency center, Educational discovery, Community diagnosis and medical treatment not omitting the Constituency Volunteer Scheme.
This is the umpteenth time the ace legislator and grassroot leader is seen visiting stakeholders and support groups, to acquaint them with his legislative governance model, which pundits in the state have so far agreed to be the best model, so far presented In direct comparison to every other campaign manifesto seen.
In the wake of Speaker, John Gaul’s (pre-campaigns) consultations, visitations endeavours, it is already public knowledge he visited the palace, of the Obol Lopon of Ugep, and meet along side the council of chiefs of Ugep. where he got their royal and fatherly blessings and support.
Adding to the fact that the support of the monarchs from Abi have been bestowed on him as well.
