Before now most people were not aware of the potential powers Abi LG of Cross river State possessed, until very recently when the House member representing the good people of Abi LG in the state house of assembly who doubles as the Speaker of the Cross river State House as well opened the access route leading to the historic Refomeh lake, located at Ebom in Abi local government area of the state.

This noble gesture has not just solved the obvious problem of the road which had been initially, in an un-motorable state but has also opened the LG as a tourist location for the historic international lake site. This will hence become a source of revenue for the immediate community and the LG as a whole. So in a few years from now it is expected to turn in millions of naira annually for the LG, and hopefully an annex location for every tourist who visit the state for the famous and widely alleged “biggest street party in Africa”.
This noble act will also place the LG on the map of tourist destinations, making the LG become more notable and open to tourist, which will also open up the various cultural festivals and other activities of the LG to the world at large.
This is also a major means of job creation as most youths will be employed into the various open vacancies. If well annexed hundreds of youths will be employed.
I hence call on the state government, local government (if it exist), traditional leaders and other relevant stakeholders from the LG to synergies and collectively look into the potentials which this single venture possesses. I won’t end this write up without giving due accolades to the honourable speaker in the person of Rt Hon John Gaul Lebo for having such a foresight and investing into such a sustainable venture, which will spring up into a job creation medium.
Signed
