DCP AHMAD ABDULRAHMAN TO REPLACE MAGU AS EFCC CHAIRMAN

Trail Reporters

Barring any last minute change in plans, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations at Police College, Kaduna, Ahmad Abdulrahman has been confirmed to replace Ibrahim Magu as the new Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Top presidential sources who confirmed the development said, it is not unconnected to the Maina’s scandal that has rocked the media space, and the face-off between Magu and the Bukola Saraki led senate, which has made the acting Chairman incapable of taking certain decisions.

It was also alleged that, Magu is involved in luxury property scandals, with properties at Maitama, Abuja, Pretoria, South Africa, and others, said to be owned by him.

Part of the plots to also stop Magu by the Senate will be the non passage of the EFCC budget, to deny the commission funding.

Recollect that, Senator Samuel Anyanwu had last week said, the Senate no longer regards Magu as acting chairman of the EFCC.

Magu’s touted successor, Abdulrahman hails from Kirfi local government area in Bauchi State. He enlisted into the Nigerain Police as Cadet ASP in 1990 at Nigeria Police Academy Annex, Kaduna.
