The plot to recall Dino Melaye, the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district in the National Assembly, has hit the rocks, as poor turn out mars recall process.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said, the Commission had so far spent a Billion Naira in the process leading to the recall.
Announcing the results, Professor Ukertor Gabriel Moti, who was the returning officer affirmed that the information on verification of signatures to the petition for the recall of Senator Dino David Melaye of Kogi West Senatorial District has taken place on this day, 28th day of April 2018, and that the verified signatures is 5.34 percent of the total number of registered voters in the constituency and has therefore not satisfied a requirement of the law for a referendum.

The secretary to Kogi State Government, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade, was allegedly seen distributing cash at polling units, according to sources, the state government were paying between N500 and N5000 per person.
Youths from Kogi West who spoke with our Reporter in Lokoja said, the exercise was a futility, as not even Bello could recall Melaye, and they were resolved to stand by Dino.
