Social media Activist and Writer,Egbara Emmanuel has advised Governor Benedict Ayade, to avoid being misled by sycophants.
He urged the governor to analyse every advice given to him by those who may claim to be his friends and supporters and pretend to offer him‘genuine’ advice to succeed.
Egbara gave the advice at his lekki resident in a chat with bloggers during a reception organised in the honour of his late father’s remembrance.
His words: “My Governor should give people the freedom to agree or disagree with him; to say their mind without pretending.
Otherwise, sycophants will deceive him.
“He should be forthright with the people and analyse every advice and make sure that he is not misled by sycophants because there are many sycophants out there.’’
Egbara said, he could not avoid public articles on social media despite the warning in some quarters not to write about the Governor to avoid being booed.
“Booing is part of the democratic rights of the people. They are free to hold any opinion and express it within the limit of the law.
“ I am not the only person, who had been booed.
It depends on how you react, how you take it. My conscience, which represents the voice of God in me, cannot be shaken by human activities; by intrigues, because I remain steadfast to the dictate of my conscience believing that God is the protector of everybody. If they boo at me, so be it; because I had nothing shameful as to be booed,” he stated.
