The Secretary to the Government of Ebonyi State, Professor Benard Odoh, on Monday resigned his position as the SSG.
Prof. Bernard, Trail Reporters gathered, was the senatorial candidate in the 2015 general elections of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), but was appointed SSG by Governor David Umahi, to the surprise of many at the stadium, after the Umahi’s inauguration.
Copies of the resignation letter sent to our medium, said, the former SSG had alleged the “crushing and grinding” principle of the Governor, and declared that he was battle ready.
Prof Bernard was quoted as saying, I understand the consequences of my action, that you will come after me and my family.
He alleged that the Ebonyi State civil service has been greatly and deliberately neglected and eroded.
He thanked the Governor’s wife, Mrs.Rachel Umahi and the family for the support they have shown him since he took office as SSG.
Meanwhile, Governor Umahi yesterday, appointed Dr Hyginus Nwokwu as the new SSG.
