Ahead of the 2019 House of Assembly elections, An Aspirant for Eket State Constituency, Mr.Ekanem Willie, on Thursday, June 7, 2018, paid homage to the Paramount Ruler of Eket, Abong ECD Abia, where he received royal blessings ahead of the Assembly elections.
Part of the delegation were, Elder Charles Etukudo, Chief Godwin Ekpuk, Hon. Umoh James who is the Chief whip of Eket legislative council, councillors, ward chairman of Urban one, Mr.Augustine Akpan Essien, Ward Exco, former secretary of council, Lady Ethel Enim, former councillors and members of the press. The visitors who were received at the office of the traditional Rulers council, at the local government secretariat, said they came to inform the Paramount Ruler and the traditional Rulers on the aspiration of Hon.Ekanem Willie, to represent Eket in the seventh Assembly.
Present at the event, were the Clan Head of Eket Afaha, Nsobom M. D. Uwem, Clan Head of Okon Clan Area, Etebom Akpabio Ekpoton Nsobom Akpabio Ekpoton, Chief Eshiet, Chief Enim, Ntisong E. U. Ekidem and Chief Solomon Eyire, Chairman, Conference of Village Heads.
Responding, Etebom Akpabio Ekpoton appealed to the people of Eket to respect zoning of political offices as it is the only way of achieving peace, political tolerance and co existence.
He said, Ekanem will give Eket a very good representation and call on all to support his ambition.
The Paramount Ruler released royal blessings on Ekanem, and urged him to be successful in his endeavors.
