Reports reaching Trail Reporters News desk reveals that the embattled former Rector of Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara, Mrs. Clara Sogbaike and her fellow treasury looters, Napoleon Akpubi and Benson Omonode in order to avoid arrest by operatives of Independent Corrupt Practices And Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has filed an Appeal against a High Court Judgement which was delivered in High Court Oghara, Delta State on 24th of April, 2017 in a Fundamental Human Rights Suit with Suit No. A/M/6/2015.
The Suit was dismissed by the Presiding Judge for lacking in merit, and the Applicants ( Clara Sogbaike, Napoleon Akpubi and Benson Omonode) were ordered to submit themselves to ICPC for investigation or risk being arrested.
We gathered that, Clara Sogbaike who had been in the hiding since the High Court judgement was given, instructed her lawyer to immediately apply for the Certified True Copy of the Judgement and file an Appeal in The Court of Appeal in Benin-City and serve it on the lower Court, Oghara, Delta State, for Stay of Execution of its judgement.
Clara Sogbaike we gathered, is giving all the security/anti graft agencies including EFCC, CCB and Police investigating her sleepless night as she has fully equipped herself with looted funds with which to battle the anti graft/security agencies to the Apex Court (Supreme Court) in order to postpone the evil day when she will eventually be arrested, charged to court and sentenced to prison.
We also gathered from very reliable sources close to Clara that she is bittered and unhappy over her predicament caused by a fearless and dogged whistle blower, Osiobe Ovie who exposed her fraud and corrupt practices when she was Rector of Delta State Polytechnic Oghara, and also vowed to kill him at all cost even including the use of some corrupt security agents who are under her payroll.
As at the time of filing in this report, details of the grounds on Clara’s Appeal in Court of Appeal in Benin-City and the date fixed for hearing of the Appeal were still very sketchy.
