The Member representing Eket, Onna, Ibeno/Esit Eket Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon.Patrick Ifon, has stated that a Federal college of Education will be established in the Federal Constituency as soon as possible. The Member stated this, when he played host to Journalists at his private residence in Eket, Akwa Ibom State.
He said, the bill to establish the federal institution was sponsored by the immediate past member representing the federal Constituency, Mrs Ekpoattai, and the new arrangement in the National Assembly is that, you can continue a bill from where the previous member stopped. Ifon also said, he is partnering with different organizations to provide skills acquisition to members of his constituency, and he is working with other members of parliament from the state, to see how the Federal Government can fix the Calabar-Itu highway.
He recollected his journey to the National Assembly in the last six months, and told Journalists present, that he has facilitated 16 Federal appointments for members of his constituency, and looked forward to doing more in the coming months.
According to Ifon, he will seek to engage stakeholders in January 2020, to find a way forward on the deplorable roads in Eket Federal Constituency, and other issues which require attention. He further declared that, he is open to learning, and will welcome untested ideas, that will help drive his mission at the National Assembly.
