Governor Umo Eno has approved a support of N500,000 for each of the 1,776 registered private schools in the state as part of his administration’s continued investment in the education sector under the ARISE Agenda.
The Governor also approved N50,000 wardrobe allowance for each of the public schools teachers across the state.
He announced the approvals during the 2026 Teachers’ Day celebration, describing teachers as critical partners in the development of the state and the education of future generations.
He further directed the completion of the Teachers’ House in Uyo within six months, stressing the need to improve the welfare, accommodation and working conditions of teachers.
The initiatives are in line with the administration’s ARISE Agenda, particularly its focus on human capital development, education and the welfare of citizens.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for teachers and strengthening the education sector as a key driver of sustainable development in Akwa Ibom State.
