Efforts by President Muhammadu Buhari’s APC led Federal Government to cleanse the Nigeria Police Force of corruption has been frustrated by a cabal of some very senior police officers within the Police Force Headquarters Abuja.
Recollect, Trail Reporters had recently published a report detailing how the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in Charge of Force Criminal Investigation & Intelligence Department (FCIID) Abuja, DIG Hyacinth Dagala was alleged by sources within FCIID, to have collected bribes to the tune of N20 Million from some officials of National Oil Spill Detection & Response Agency (NOSDRA) /officials of Sterling Exploration & Energy Production Company (SEEPCO) in order to suppress, doctor or outrightly kill an investigation report investigated by CSP Makiluso Umaro formerly attached to X-Squad FCIID Abuja, which seriously indicted the Director-General of NOSDRA,Peter Idabor, a Deputy Director, Damage Assessment NOSDRA, Mr. Akindele B. Olubunmi and some SEEPCO officials led by their Managing Director, Deparke Barriot for defrauding an oil revenue money amounting to over N7 Billion meant for the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Investigation by our team of Reporters revealed that, there is serious conspiracy between the office of the DIG FCIID and CP Legal Force Headquarters Abuja to destroy and carpet the police investigation report of CSP Makiluso Umaro.
Information/documents made available to Trail Reporters indicates that, as a result of the conspiracy between the DIG FCIID, Hyacinth Dagala/CP Legal, Barr. Igbodo David/NOSDRA Officials/SEEPCO Officials, the Complainant, Engr. Friday Ani petitioned the Chairman, Federal Executive Council led by President Muhammadu Buhari through the Office of the Attorney General of The Federation, Abubakar Malabu, to take over the case file, recover over N7 billion which the high profile suspects, Peter Idabor, Akindele B. Olubunmi, Deparke Barriot and others defrauded the Federal Government and prosecute them accordingly.
The AGF we gathered, approved the petition and directed his Director in charge of Citizens Right Department, F.K Bebu in the office of the AGF, to investigate.
Trail Reporters were reliably informed that while investigation is still ongoing by the office of the Director of Citizens Right Department, the complainant, Engr. Friday received a text message/telephone call from one Abubakar Aliyu on 25th of April 2017, who claimed to be a police officer attached to the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Unit. He demanded that the complainant, Engr.Friday should come to the Police Headquarters,Abuja to meet him as he is in possession of a directive which the AGF forwarded to the Inspector General of Police since the second week of April, 2017 requesting for the police report of CSP Makiluso Umaro, formally with X-Squad FCIID Abuja.
We gathered that, when the Complainant, Engr.Friday requested to appear in company of his lawyer the next day, the acclaimed Police officer, Abubakar Aliyu declined and insisted Engr. Friday must come alone.
All efforts to persuade Abubakar that investigation had already been concluded long time ago by CSP Makiluso Umaro and forwarded to CP Legal, Barr. Igbodo David via DIG Hyacinth Dagala in charge of FCIID Abuja, fell on deaf ears, thereby causing suspicion on the mind of Friday Ani over his latest invitation by Abubakar Aliyu instead of the Police forwarding their report the the Minister of Justice as requested.
Speaking with Trail Reporters, Engr. Friday Ani alleged that there is serious plot by Peter Idabor led NOSDRA/ Deparke Barriot led SEEPCO, to exterminate him because his pictures has been distributed to thugs, with some top police officers within the Police Force Headquarters Abuja being aware of their evil plot to perfect their criminal act to assassinate the whistle blower, Friday Ani, in order to cover up their fraud and avoid further investigation by the office of the Hon. Attorney General of the Federation to recover over N7 billion which the suspects defrauded the Federal Government.
As at the time of filing in this report, investigation by our crack team of Investigative Journalists revealed that the Police report of CSP Makiluso which seriously indicted NOSDRA/SEEPCO Officials for criminal conspiracy and fraud against the Federal Government, is yet to be forwarded to the office of the Attorney General of the Federation for further and necessary action.
Efforts made by one of our correspondents based in Abuja to contact the Director in charge of Citizens Rights Department in the office of the AGF handling the matter, for comments were unsuccessful.
The DIG FCIID, did not respond to calls placed to his line, the CP Legal, said, he knew nothing about the case, and Abubakar Aliyu requested that our Reporter should come to the police headquarters, as he could not comment on the matter through phone.
