England captain Harry Kane has won the 2026 Men’s Ballon d’Or and the Gerd Müller Trophy, capping a remarkable season with Bayern Munich and the national team.
The 33-year-old striker received the honours at the 70th Ballon d’Or ceremony at the London Palladium on Monday, October 26, becoming the first Englishman since Michael Owen in 2001 to win the prestigious individual football award.
Kane finished ahead of France’s Kylian Mbappé and Spain’s Lamine Yamal in the Ballon d’Or voting, earning recognition for his outstanding performances during the 2025/26 season.
The Bayern Munich forward scored 61 goals in 51 competitive appearances for the German club. His performances helped Bayern secure the Bundesliga title, the German Cup and the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup.
He also scored 12 goals for England, bringing his total for club and country to 73 goals across 65 appearances during the season.
Kane’s second honour of the evening was the Gerd Müller Trophy, awarded to the season’s leading goalscorer across club and international football. He previously shared the award with Mbappé in 2024.

Reacting to his achievement, Kane described the season as the best of his career and credited his teammates, coaches and family for their support.
His double victory marks a significant milestone in his career, placing him among the select group of English players to have won football’s most prestigious individual honour.
