Report reaching ALEDEH has it that over one hundred and forty five (145) staff of Television Continental Broadcasting Service owners of TVC News, TVC Nigeria, TVC Entertainment and Adaba FM in Ondo State have been sacked.
Recall that we had reported on Thursday, June 1, that the new board of the broadcast outfit had penciled down two hundred (200) staff for sack.
In our report, we stated that the board headed by a white man, Andre Hanlon took the decision to reduce overhead costs, most especially workers’ salaries running into millions of naira.
However, barely twenty four (24) hours after we reported this, ALEDEH can authoritatively say that over one hundred and forty five (145) staff of the broadcast outfit were sacked yesterday, Friday, June 2.
The sack which was done under heavy security presence, affected some pioneer staff of the broadcast outfit.
One of the affected staff who spoke with ALEDEH, said “They did it as if we were criminals”.
Another said: “After all we laboured for right from Link65, to G65 and now TVC this is all we get as thank you”, the furious staff lamented.
As at the time of filing this report, security personnel which include the police and fierce-looking professional bouncers were seen taking strategic positions in the complex of the broadcast outfit, ready to bounce the affected workers out of the complex.
