HOW GODSWILL AKPABIO SENT ASSASSINS TO KILL ME -PROF DES WILSON

A communication Scholar and Lecturer in the University of Uyo, Prof.Des Wilson has recounted his ordeal in the hands of the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Akpabio.

Prof.Des Wilson who spoke with a team of Journalists in an interview at the university community said, his life was under serious danger while Akpabio held sway as Governor of the State. He stated that, twice, Assassins came to his house allegedly on the orders of Akpabio, because of an unknown disagreement Akpabio felt they had.

The University Don said, when they first came, unfortunately for them, he was in Calabar at the time, and due to the number of dogs in his residence, they could not access his compound, and his neighbor had alerted him that they were strange persons around. The second time they came, they were dressed in police uniforms, that he had to report the following day to the police division in his area, and the DPO said, he didn’t send anyone there. Acting on a tip off later, Prof. fled to Abuja, where he stayed for a while and he was still traced to the hotel where he was lodging and had to relocate to another location.

According to the Lecturer, during Akpabio’s reign, they were lots of acquisitions of fake police uniforms, used for crimes. He further said, he didn’t understand why Akpabio wanted to kill him. I was afraid that my family members will be harmed, but my former students had arranged for me to leave, and I thought that it was time for me to leave and do some rethinking, but I knew that my life was in the hands of God, when I first fled to Calabar. Prof.Des Wilson was quoted.

  1. Please you guys should stop using my Father’s name to score cheap political score point. He never granted you guys this interview, if you guys don’t stop using his name unjustly you will end up in jail because I would take legal actions against the use of his name. A word is enough for the wise.
