The Imo state government has retraced its step on the renaming of bank road owerri to Muhammadu buhari road, following the vehement refusal and mixed reactions from Catholic faithfuls and imo people in general.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Professor Nnamdi Obiareri, he said the government regrets her action as an error or wrongly installing a street sign suggesting a renaming of the street.
Imolites had hitherto condemned the act, as Asumpta avenue is strategic and significant to the Catholic faithfuls in the state.
