Man is a product of praise. His creation was inspired by and his mission was to give praise to his creator (Isaiah 43:21) . All through the journey of life on earth, man ought always to give praise to God. This message is aimed at bringing you a deeper and revealed knowledge of the essence of praise and how it produces result for God’s children. Revelation of the energizing, inspiring, empowering, overcoming, subduing, overruling power of praise is hereby presented to you to help boost your life with results.
Praise is not an item in the church program of activities. Praise is a character of a victorious person. It is a way of life. It is what you do in several ways, at all times, everywhere. Praise magnifies the Lord. It is what makes the Lord Magnified and the enemy minimized. God requires our praise more than He requires anything from us. The man that ceases to praise God gradually fades away. Praise is the sustainer of life, it is what produces joy and joy is the fuel of life. Sadness saps life from man. Psalm 100:4 says ‘’Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His court with praise: be thankful unto Him and bless His name.’’ The criteria for gaining access to the presence of the Almighty is thanksgiving and praise. God does not live in heaven, He lives in the praises of his people. Imagine the size and importance of praise that God has to dwell in it. Quickly, let me show you some important points about praise that you need to note.
1. PRAISE IS A SPIRITUAL TOOL AND WEAPON OF A HIGH WORTH AND VALUE (2 Chron 20:21-22)
Praise is a weapon that God uses to fight for His children. When you raise your voice in praise the host of heavens are alert to take over your battles. Our God is mighty in battle! Imagine a scenario where a wrestler’s arrival is announced. The announcer takes time to call him names and mention his past victories. This is a moral booster for the wrestler and helps spur him up to defend the good adjectives used in announcing his entry. When you praise God you cheer him to interfere in your affair. When King Jehoshaphat was faced with war threat he engaged praise. In 2 Chron 20:21-22 Jehoshaphat went to war with the most sophisticated weapon – Praise. He gathered singers and as they praised God, the war was being fought and won without them raising a finger. King David won all the battles in his lifetime because he was a praiser. Praise remains the best and most sophisticated weapon in a christian’s arsenal. The devil cannot stand praise that is the reason he fights to steal praise from your lips but when you defy his tricks and keep praising, you triumph over him.
2. PRAISE IS THE MAJOR FOCUS OF THE ENEMY
What the enemy does is to leave you in perpetual depression. He knows your praise is your wealth. It is your prosperity. In your praise is your future that’s why the enemy wants to steal it. Tell me of a man who has several sicknesses and I will tell you he lacks praise in his life. Prov 17:22 says ‘’a merry heart is a good medicine’’. This means that being happy and smiling can always handle ill health. If the heart is happy the body will be healthy. When the devil attacked Job he wasn’t aiming at owning the properties of Job but so Job can stop praising and start cursing God. But thank God, Job knew beyond what canal man could know. He preserved his praise and the praise he preserved worked out a raise for him. The enemy brings sickness and disaster to distract you and steal your praise. The reason for that attack is so you will stop praising. Whenever you smile, the enemy cries but when you keep rejoicing he becomes saddened. Irrespective of what you go through, keep praising. Don’t allow the devil see you sad. Happiness comes as a result of happening and every happening has it’s expiration because it’s just an event. The bible doesn’t say we should be happy but that we should rejoice forevermore. Joy is inherent. You keep rejoicing despite the turmoil surrounding you. You keep rejoicing irrespective of how you feel. Whatever happens around you, let your joy swallow the circumstance.
3. A VERY HEAVY RESPONSIBILTY IS PLACED ON THE CHILD OF GOD FOR THE DEFENCE OF HIS/HER PRAISE.
Before a force man is granted the license to be armed, he must have passed through serious training on how to handle firearms. He is warned against negligence and instructed to guide the firearms with his life. That is how important weapons are. Every Christian needs such training because Christianity is warfare. We don’t fight to win but we fight to maintain our victory in Christ. Praise is our spiritual firearm and as such, praise is the enemy’s point of target; he wants to disarm you first before pouncing on you. Guard your praise with your life. Your praise carries your victory. A saddened heart cannot give praise. Guard your heart from depression. Refuse to patronize depression. No matter the circumstances, let your mind and attitude not reflect the situation and eventually the situation will change. If your problem cannot stop your praise, your praise will certainly stop your problem. Nobody ever gets things done well by worrying. Whenever life throws stone at you, gather the stones and use it as a stepping stone to reach the top. There are some conversation, some information and some company you mustn’t keep because they can dampen your spirit and kill your faith in God and His word. Allow the Holy Spirit to censor your soul against external infections that aim at dismantling your faith. Defend your praise. Guard your joy as you guard your life.
WHAT ELEMENT MAKES PRAISE PRODUCE RESULT
1. The Heart Of Thanksgiving (Psalm 103:1-5)
You will be shocked how many times the devil almost struck but God defended you. When you realize these things, you cannot fail to thank God. Stop counting the failure start counting the faithfulness of God. Until we are thankful, we can never be grateful. Until we are grateful we remain a great fool. When you thank Him for ordinary water, He will give you tea. When you thank Him for tea, He will give you fisherman soup. Thank Him for His finger and you will see His hand. When you thank Him, He makes your tank full. Thanksgiving releases more into the life of the thanksgiver. Ask me why you don’t have more and I will tell you because you have stopped thanking. When you get married and after about 5 years of no childbearing you start complaining, you have placed a barrier on your miracle. Many times while counseling people who came complaining of their challenges, I will hear God tell me to instruct such a person to go back and spend hours worshiping Him that a miracle will happen and ofcourse they always have a testimony afterwards. In most cases, the distance between us and a miracle is just thanksgiving. Thanksgiving can do for you what your money cannot do for you. Watchout, don’t allow ingratitude rob you of accessing the abundance of God. It is not just about waiting on God for your visitation but the attitude you exhibit while waiting. A heart of thanksgiving is what you should never lack as a Christian.
