Text: Psalm 3:4-5
For any product to maintain it’s quality and have it’s content preserved, there are instructions on usage and handling that will help preserve it. Life as a product can be preserved through prayers. Prayer is very important spiritual exercise to be engaged in by Christians with immeasurable benefits. So important was prayer that Jesus engaged himself in constant prayers and never failed. Though He was the son of God He still prayed. If Jesus who was 100% God and 100% man could pray and fast how much more we humans. A man that fails to pray is vulnerable to spiritual vices. A prayerful person cannot be devoured by the enemy. Prayer is vital in the life of every Christian. When we engage the power of prayers, we sign up to see the supernatural. God expects to hear and speak to His children in the place of prayer. The man that kneels before God in prayer stands tall before men. You cannot command the supernatural if you are not a man given to prayers. I have many evidences and proofs to the truth that prayers are super effective. The lifestyle of praying should never be neglected because our very relationship with God is serviced by prayers and study of God’s word.
However, due to ignorance many have missed the core benefits of prayer as a result they expire in life. The challenges of life can make a man worn out and expire if he is not prayerful. We have stood strong for years despite hostility because of the preservative power of prayer. When the enemy thinks it is all over, the power of prayers turns it all over again and we wax strong as if nothing happened. Let me share with you some important essentials in prayers that will guarantee your all-round preservation.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED IN PRAYER FOR PRESERVATION
SPIRITUAL COVERAGE
Spiritual coverage is of utmost importance to every man. Spiritual coverage is like a platform you stand on. It is a base that gives you spiritual support and backing. If you don’t have a mentor, you can be tormented. To fly in life, you need feathers and spiritual fathers can guarantee that. Gen 24:12
‘’And he said, O Lord God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham.’’ This was the prayer of a man who had spiritual coverage and backing. He was Abraham’s chief servant, he prayed to the God of his master and as a result he succeeded in his mission. There are spiritual battles you cannot overcome at your level of spirituality. You call on the God of your father. It was not out of place for Israelites to direct their prayers to the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. It is not also out of place to direct your prayers -especially when the battle is beyond your ability- to the God of pastors whose ministry you believe in/submit to. Elisha submitted to Elijah. Joshua served under Moses. Timothy was taught by Paul. So the list continues. Whenever you call on the grace of your spiritual coverage to work for you, the covenant of that ministry is engaged to bring you help. You may lack money but don’t lack spiritual coverage.
2. Full Trust In God (Daniel 3:28)
Trust is a major essential during prayers. You can’t call on a God you don’t want to entrust with your affairs. God does not like people with wavering mind. Absolute trust in God is not to be negotiated. Make up your mind and never settle for anything less. It’s either God or God. Faced with a tough situation, Daniel made up His mind and he never wavered his trust. Child of God when God sees a man who trusts Him absolutely He becomes more committed to proof how trustworthy He is. Dont make God an option or your last hope. Make God your only hope and He wont fail. God saw the trust of the three Hebrew boys and was moved to action. Even in the face of the burning fire they dared to disobey a king they see and rely on a God they couldn’t see. Trust alone can move God to do great wonders. It moved God to physically appear in the fire and rescue the Hebrew boys. I see God move into that difficult situation and handle it for you. Never pray more than you trust who you pray to.
3. Consistent Appreciation Of Past Preservation
Never forget the former miracles God did for you. David was a good historian with detailed account of the past miracles of God. Many of us are only good at recalling past failures and how many times we fasted and it didn’t work. Your previous breakthroughs sets the stage for your expected breakthroughs. Always remember that the God that Healed fever can also heal AIDS. The God that gave admission can fund your education and make you graduate. The God that gives life can give you what to live with. David by recalling that he killed the lion and bear gathered the power to kill Goliath. Every victory is built upon the foundation of past victories. I can tell you that the devil knows and fears the power of prayers that is the reason he plants some negative thoughts in your mind anytime you are about embarking on a fasting. He reminds you that you have fasted severally about the same issue to no avail. He reminds you everything negative just to discourage you but if you remind yourself of the past breakthroughs, miracles and testimonies you will overcome the devil. For every reason the devil gives you not to thank God, find several reasons to thank God. When you appreciate God for His finger, He will show you His hand. Keep appreciating God and the little you ask for will be done.
4. Maintenance Of Spiritual Sensitivity (Romans 8:14)
‘’As many as are led…’’ This scripture shows that not all are led by the spirit. The best way to secure preservation and answers to prayers is by being led of the Holy Spirit. I remember being called to pray for a certain man who slumped and died few years ago. On arrival at his house, I saw a number of pastors already soaked in their sweat praying and speaking in tongues yet there was no sign of life in the dead body.
I stayed by without praying but somehow I felt all the people there may have thought I am proud or I am afraid of the situation or maybe I was helpless but little did they know I was connecting to the heavenly control towers to have a directive on what I should do. Immediately God told me that the man has gone past the first heavens and was about exiting the last realm after which his soul will never return again.
I stood up and locked the heavens. I commanded his soul to return and it did. The man came back to life to the Glory of God. What took other pastors almost the whole day was done in few minutes because I prayed by the directive of the spirit. Never take spiritual signal for granted. A man that is consistent in prayers cannot become a casualty. Constant prayers keeps your spirit sharpened to discern between good and bad. I pray for you, may your spiritual sensitivity be sharpened. Receive divine ability to see, hear and perceive things around you before they happen.
5.The Life Of Sacrifice (1samuel 7:9)
‘’And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the Lord: and Samuel cried unto the Lord for Israel; and the Lord heard him.’’ God can kill thousands to protect a man of sacrifice. God doesn’t joke with a painful sacrifice. Men with deep spiritual understanding know the importance of sacrifice. David never failed to make sacrifices to God as a result he was empowered to overcome in every battle he entered into. Sacrifice acts like magnet, it attracts the mighty hand of God.
If you think sacrifice is not powerful then you need to read 2 kings 3:27 were the king of Edom sacrificed his son at a battle front and God turned against Israel to grant Edom victory.
Don’t question the success of a man you cannot march up his sacrificial ability. When you give to the poor, clothe the nude, take care of the aged and fund kingdom projects you are unconsciously attracting the help of God to yourself. Cornelius was a giver and deliverance came to Mecedonia as a result of his many sacrifices in giving to the needy (Acts 10:1-4).
Let your sacrifices speak for you in the days of trouble. When you give to the aged, you provoke the grace to live a long fulfilled life upon yourself. When you give an item in church it stands as a memorial before God. I declare, your sacrifice will speak for you.
6. A Life Of Righteousness (James 5:16; Prov. 28:1)
Right standing with God guarantees right happenings in your life. James 5:16 says ‘’…The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.’’ Righteousness gives power to your prayers. Though we don’t live by our righteousness but that of Christ, we need to maintain right living before God and our fellow men. Sin drags us far away from God.
There is no substitution to the life of prayers. It is practically the most powerful act that guarantees preservation. Prayer preserves lives. There are many people that died the death of others just because they were not prayerful. Today as you read this, I exempt you from the evil plans of the enemy. I baptize you with the power of prayer.
