I have keenly watched the political enclave of Akwa Ibom-state for the past few months, precisely immediately after the much acclaimed uncommon defection that was without impact. Sequence to this, were talks about the second term bid his HE Udom Emmanuel with regards to the unimaginable defection of the supposed ‘great teacher’. However, the truth remains that Akwa Ibomites, having tasted the ‘ugly’ water of old, have chosen to count their today’s blessings and name them one by one.
In 2015, Akwa Ibomites signed up for HE Udom Emmanuel with the assurance of job creation, wealth, infrastructural standardization, economic and political inclusion and poverty alleviation. Today, not only has the governor done justice to his words (promises), he has also consolidated in the area of education and security with industrialization as his markman.
The giant strides and effort of his HE in achieving an Akwa Ibom State were no one is found begging for a living, but with a means to earn a living can be seen with the point scored in the area of industrialization with Electrical Digital Metering Factory, Pencil and Toothpick Factory, Syringe Factory, resuscitation of peacock paint and many more.
One can easily say that the state is ready and bound to create jobs, alleviate poverty and create wealth for citizens. An attempt to quantify the superlative work of the Governor in the development of good roads network and other infrastructure will be act in futility.
This is as a result of the impeccable understanding of the importance of good good roads and other infrastructure in driving the economy to the zenith.
In an era were politics have become an affliction to the citizenry, Akwa Ibomites have continually enjoyed the dividends of a visionary leader who draws the line between development, security of lives and properties and bitter-sweet politics. Without suffering from amnesia, every Akwa Ibomites of reasonable age, should be able to reminisce on the terror of yesterday, and make positive and well-deserved decision for tomorrow. Before the administration of the one with the fear of God, Akwa Ibomites witnessed quantum amount of assassination, kidnapping and robbery all orchestrated by the who today carries the symbol of slavery (broom) to seek power.
However, while they take glory in nefarious act, our man of peace, integrity and good conscience have fought tooth and nail to ensure that the peace we today enjoy, is never an illusion. Today, we can sleep with our eyes both close without fear or threat. No wonder Marcus Cicero, refers to peace as liberty in tranquility. It’s yet another politicking season, all ‘saintly’ propaganda will be be cooked with the aim to deceive as usual.
As my big brother will always say, “no man can and should play God”. The Governor has over everything won the battle for Akwa Ibomites. Let it known that in 2019, the battlefield will be declared open for Akwa Ibomites and every other political party that claims to have federal might.
A popular saying in my place thus go, “a leaf of a tree that has fallen is a perfect warning to the leaf still on the tree”. We have as children of God learnt our lessons from Benue state, Kaduna State, Osun State and the rest. We have decided that in God’s hands alone can Akwa Ibom State be saved and in a servant leader who believe in the supreme being can this be achieved. HE Udom Emmanuel has proven himself worthy and qualify to lead Akwa Ibom State to the promise Land, for the job at Hilltop Mansion come 2019, Udom Emmanuel shall be OUR MAN and with him we will achieve victory and smile together.
