Few weeks to the much anticipated Local Government election in Akwa Ibom State, Youths from Etinan LGA, has adopted Mr. Cletus Ekpo as their sole candidate.
The youths took the decision recently, during an Enlarged Youth Meeting comprising of Youth groups such as Youth Caucus, Youth Council, Dakkada Youths, Student Bodies, Believers Assembly and several others.
They also declared their total support for Governor Udom Emmanuel till 2023.
Declaring the meeting open, the convener, Hon. Item Etuk who is also the Youth Caucus Chairman Etinan spoke glowingly of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s projects in Etinan.
“Even the blind can see that our dear governor has done a lot for Etinan Local Government, we have seen the reactivation of Peacock Paint Industry that was abandoned for years. We have seen the toothpick/pencil factory at Ekom Iman. We have also seen the General Hospital in Etinan, remember how it was before Governor Udom gave it a facelift.
“We have seen the construction of road from Ekom Iman to Ikot Edor, Onna.
Etinan has been favoured in appointments done by the Governor. What Governor Udom has done is unprecedented”Hon. Item also preached the gospel of Cletus Ekpo, citing some of his achievements in Etinan in less than a year since he was appointed the Transition Chairman of Etinan.
“Hon. Cletus Ekpo has been tasted, trusted. We have seen his dexterity in terms of administration; He has been tasted for over one year for us to know if he will be good or bad with the youths of Etinan. In his One year in Office, Suvr. Cletus Ekpo has graded roads, 1000 youth’s empowerment (which I believe some of you are among), electrification and donation of Transformer to Ikot Udo Otto and Youth empowerment among several others”, he said.
Also speaking the State Deputy Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Youth Caucus – Comrade Johnson Udoh, applauded the Governor for the construction of roads in Etinan.
He further appreciated the Governor for the appointments of Iman Ibom sons and daughter in his government. Udoh said Hon. Cletus Ekpo is a very humble and straightforward politician with the interest of the youths at heart.
The Coordinator of Forum of Youth Leaders Comrade Ime Cletus Obot applauded the dexterity of Hon. Cletus Ekpo in administration of Etinan Council especially in empowerment of the youths of Etinan.
He pledged the group’s total support for the aspiration of Cletus Ekpo to the office of Executive Chairman.
Speaking for the Students, the NAAKISS President Etinan UNIUYO Chapter, Comrade Ime Hanson applauded the performance of Gov Udom Emmanuel in the Local Government citing renovation of Etinan Hospital, Reactivation of Peacock Paints Industry, Construction of roads and Toothpick/Pencil Industry in Etinan. He urged the Youths of Iman to support the governor for a second term.
Comrade Hanson described Hon. Cletus Ekpo as a very humble and straightforward person. He gave a testimony of the support he got from Cletus Ekpo while seeking election in micro politics of University of Uyo. He described Hon. Cletus Ekpo as his maker.
The Youths from Etinan ended the meeting with all the youths of Etinan voting in support of Governor Udom Emmanuel till 2023 and adoption of Hon. Cletus Ekpo as their candidate in the forth coming Local Government election.

Item Etuk, convener and Chairman youth caucus Etinan, Comrade Ime Cletus Obot – Chairman Forum of Village Youth Leaders, Comrade Abasianwan Udofia – Coordinator Dakkada Youth Etinan chapter, Comrade Ime Hanson – Nakkiss president UNIUYO chapter, Hon. Iniobong Nkan – State Youth Officer, Mr. Idorenyin Okon – State Youth Officer, Mr. Udeme Samuel – State Youth Officer and Comrade Etop Umo.
Others include Comrade Iniedu Richard – Coordinator Believer Assembly (Youth group), Comrade Kufre Essien – Vice Chairman, youth caucus, Mr Ifiok Okon – supervisor in Etinan Transition council, Immediate past youth council Chairman – Comrade Mboutidiem Idem, Comrade Ndanti Ekperiekpe, youth council Chairman and Comrade Evangeline Ekpo NEAGOS UNIUYO chapter.
