MEDICAL SUCCOR REACHES ABI STATE CONSTITUENCY

Health is life, a healthy man they say is a wealthy man. There is no doubt that due attention should be paid to our health, because only the living has hope. Abi State constituency would be having a major face lift in respect to her health sector, as this train of schedules would set a permanent new structure and focus for the health sector in the local government.
This is contained in the medical outreach programme which is scheduled for Friday 6th of April 2017 in Abi.

The programme which would set a new course for the health sector, is to see that the indegenes get free medical consultations, drugs are prescribed and instantly given to people, and to also begin a new cause that would see the constituents at designated dates and venues, in their health facilities, access free drugs and medical consultancies under the health care scheme. This scheme is carefully thought out to address the problem of ill health especially in those who can not afford quality health care, such persons would hence fit into the scheme, which would see to their health needs.

The events of the programme which would be marking the day, would see medical practitioners talk on prevalent health issues affecting the communities, as well as educate the people on how to curb such. It would also focus on how the people can have a relatively high longitudinal life expectancy rate considering the communities major occupation to be farming.

The scheme which won’t just end at the day’s activities but would see that, from time to time there is a constant rapport between the medical health professionals and the indegenes to monitor their health progress and when need be adopt a better, robust and more enhanced medical treatments for their individual needs.
This is coming at a time when our communities are becoming more susceptible to illnesses and diseases, which has resulted into low productivity, hunger and poverty in some quarters.

The House member representing the local government in the State House, who doubles as the Speaker in the person of Rt Hon John Gaul Lebo, believes strongly that giving a man fish isn’t the most sustainable approach in solving his long term needs but creating an enabling environment and policy framework, in which the man would be thought on how to catch fish, so that he can constantly catch fish for the ever growing needs of his family. This has formed the basis and rational for this programme.

It is also worthy of mention to note that, closely after the medical outreach, deserving students from the local government would be supported with bursary to cushion the rising cost of education, considering also, that at the top of his agenda, for his constituents is to empower and enhance productivity in his people.

Which basically has youths and women at the core of the agenda. Students would further be informed at due cause on how to go about their bursaries.
It is the projection of the house member, that in about two decades to come, the local government would have had high number of professionals in at least all the major disciplines available locally. This he believes would move the local government to an advantage position in the leagues of local governments.

I congratulate these well thought out idea of the Honourable Speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly, and also the good people of Abi Local Government which are the beneficiaries of his numerous people oriented projects. Indeed Abi is walking the talk.
