…Reafirms that protesters were financially induced by public office holders from the LGA.
The Mkpat Enin Chapter of the National Youth Council and the local wing of the Akwa Ibom Youth Caucus in the LG has both distanced themselves from the ongoing saga unfolding over the spread of political interest in the area.
The above was contained in a press release jointly issued yesterday, by both youth bodies from the LGA and made available to Journalists.
The release which described the action of the monday protesters as regrettable and the plot as reprobate and irrelevant was signed by the Chairman, National Youth Council Of Nigeria, Mkpat Enin Chapter, Hon. Emem Alex and the Chairman, AKwa Ibom Youth Caucus, Mkpat Enin Chapter, Hon. Tony Evans.
“The regrettable action by few of our Mkpat Enin people met us as a surprise because such reprobate plot was superfluous and irrelevant, we are using this medium to distance ourselves and members from the sham”
The youth bodies spared no words as they called out public office holders from the area alleging that the monday action was incited by select political office holder from the LGA.
It read “Youths of Mkpat Enin local government were on monday May 8, 2018, wrongly incited by some selfish public office holders from the area to protest against the recently released list of supervisory councilors”
The concerned youth revered His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel for the inclusiveness of all four clans namely Ukpum Minya, Ikpa Ibom, Ibiaku and Ikpa Ikono in the list of recent appointees noting that it was the first time”
“It is also on record that for the first time in the make up of supervisory councilors’ list in Mkpat Enin Local Government, all four clans of Mkpat Enin were represented with at least two nominess each.
This unprecedented feat by the leader of our great party and our dear Governor, Deacon Gabriel Emmauel has further endeared him as a leader who believes in justice equity and fairness”
Also, the youths who confirmed that the protesters were financially induced by political office holders from the LGA, warned the unprintable names behind the plot to desist from converting the common wealth of the people to selfish purposes and to cause unrest in the area.
In their words, ” Such actions of financially induced youths are unacceptable. We also wish to advise public office holders in Mkpat Enin to desist from using our common patrimony which they are feeding fat from to ferment problems, and also the youths who use peanuts to cause rancour.”
The youths of Mkpat Enin thanked the Governor for the project undergone in the local government area as they pledged their continued support to the administration of His Excellency come 2019.
