The Fundamental Human Rights Suit with Suit No. FHC/ASB/CS/17/2017 filed by the immediate past Rector of Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara, Clara Sogbaike, in March 2017, against the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Attorney General & Minister of Justice, Chairman, Code of Conduct Bureau, Chairman, Economic & Financial Crimes Commission, Executive Secretary, National Human Rights Commission and Mr. Osiobe Ovie was yesterday, the 3rd of July, 2017 dismissed for lacking in merit by a Federal High Court Judge Sitting in Asaba, Delta State.
Recollect that, Trail Reporters had published a report in which Clara Sogbaike also filed a suit against the Independent Corrupt Practices And Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in High Court Oghara, Delta State, to evade arrest and investigation, and the suit was also dismissed for lacking in merit in April, 2017, but the High Court Judgement has been appealed and is currently before the Court of Appeal, Benin-City.
We gathered that, with the latest Federal High Court Judgement delivered in Asaba yesterday, it is evident that Clara and all her accomplices have no escape route and will soon be shown the gate to prison.
As at the time of filing in this report, efforts made by one of our correspondents to speak with Clara’s lawyer, Barr. G.A.I Mowah, to comment over the judgement did not yield positive results as they hurriedly left the Federal High Court Premises to avoid interviews from waiting Journalists.
