Obaseki Emerges Edo PDP Consensus Governorship Candidate

…As Imasuagbon Endorsed Obaseki.

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, who was unscrupulously schemed out of the All Progressives Congress, APC, primaries by the ousted National Chairman of the party, Mr Adams Oshiomhole and his illegal faction, has emerged as the consensus governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State.

The main contender in the race, Kenneth Imasuagbon aka The Rice Man, stepped down for Obaseki, few hours to primaries on Thursday.

Done and dusted, Obaseki will fly the PDP Flag for the party in the forthcoming gubernatorial elections slated for September this year.

And with the recognition of the Victor Giadom’s leadership in APC by President Muhammadu Buhari, it appears that the Edo APC governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, will have to begin series of fasting and prayers to retain the party’s ticket.

Reliable resources in APC, loyal to Mr President and Giadom confirmed that the Edo governorship primaries which was conducted by the Adams Oshiomhole’s illegal faction may be quashed by the authentic National Executive Committee, NEC, or have it ratified so as not to miss deadline set out by the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC.

If ratified, PDP may proceed to institute legal action to question the legitimacy of Edo APC governorship primaries that was conducted by an illegal NEC without the involvement of the legitimate state EXCO, ably chaired by Barrister Anselm Ojezua.

Whichever way, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, who is now a product of illegality, is already sitting on a keg of gunpowder ready to explode anytime soon.

The duo of Kenneth Imasuagbon and Hon Omoregie Ogbiede-Ihama, can be referred to as core democrats and loyal party members who have the greater interests of the party and Edo people at heart. Thanks to both of you, see you at the top of your political career in the near future.

Congratulations to the dogged peoples governor, Godwin Obaseki.
