ORTOM CONDEMNS GBOKO KILLINGS, DIRECTS ARREST OF CULPRITS

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has condemned the killings that took place at the Gboko garage today and directed the police to commence immediate investigation, arrest, and prosecution of those responsible for the act.

He spoke during a visit to the scene where he said the action was unacceptable as two wrongs do not make a right.

Governor Ortom stated that the act of attacking travellers would complicate security challenges in the state and endanger the lives of Benue indigenes who live in other places.

He appealed to those with useful information about the culprits to assist the security agencies as security was the responsibility of all.

The Governor urged the people of the state not to take the law into their hands but always report infringements on their rights to the relevant authorities.
