…SAYS GREAT OGBORU, APC SHALL SUFFER HUMULIATING DEFEAT IN 2019.
Chairman of the just concluded National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Gov Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa has been described as a true democrat and a genius in the conduct of elections.
Executive Assistant to Gov Okowa on Communications, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe made the assertion while speaking on a television programme aired by Delta Rainbow Television (DRTV) in Asaba on Tuesday 9th October, 2018.
He noted that the inherent leadership qualities of his boss the governor of Delta State, has further endeared him to the hearts of millions of Nigerians and by extension the international community that viewed the transparent and peaceful conduct of the 2018 PDP National Convention in which the former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Waziri Adamawa emerged as 2019 PDP presidential candidate.
Oghenesivbe posited that the senseless propaganda and name calling by the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, calculated to ridicle this administration goes to no issue; as can be seen from the superlative testimonies and commendations from within and outside the country attesting to the visionary leadership skills of the governor, adding that the massive infrastructure development, youth and woman empowerment initiates as well as expanded human capital development policies and programmes of the state government cannot be swept under the carpet by Okowa’s political detractors.
He said Gov Okowa is the man of the moment in advancement of constitutional democracy in Nigeria, adding that it will not be out of place if the Smart Governor is periodically engaged as a special consultant to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC); to train the electoral umpire’s personnel, Resident Electoral Commissioners, Returning Officers and senior contract staff of the commission on the best way to conduct general elections in the country.
“Gov Okowa has through uncommon display of leadership skills propelled by love for country, and was able to organise the freest, most transparent and international adjudged the best party convention in Africa, and Deltans are very proud of him.
“Come 2019, Okowa who doubles as the Ochuko R’ Urhobo Nation shall terminate Chief Great Ogboru’s political career in a humiliating landslide victory.
“Our principal, Gov Okowa is far ahead of Ogboru, the APC gubernatorial candidate in terms of political experience, track records in public service and intellectual capacity needed to drive modern innovations for greater results in socioeconomic development and fulfilment of social contract for good governance needed in the 21st century.
“Ogboru is merely hungry for power but lacks the essential intellectual and leadership skills to prudently manage financial, material and human resources as can be seen from the total collapse of his fish business and other crashed commercial ventures, and owing commercial banks billions of Naira including accumulated unpaid interest.
“Deltans cannot allow a man who was described by Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), as a chronic debtor to be their governor. Never. Ogboru will mismanage the resources of the state the same way he mismanaged the loans obtained by his companies including Fiogreat Limited. The huge debt legal tussles are pending in various courts in Nigeria.
“It is surprising to note that APC and President Muhammadu Buhari who claim to be fighting corruption in Nigeria, could alllow a failed businessman and a chronic debtor in the person of Great Ogboru, to be their governorship candidate in Delta State.
“The choice of Ogboru for governor by the fast decaying APC goes to show that President Buhari is paying lip service to Fight against corruption from top to bottom,” Oghenesivbe alleged.
