The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Mr. Nsima Ekere has advised politicians not to play politics with development of the people and the state. He said, development should supersede political differences.
Nsima spoke at his residence, where he hosted Journalists in Akwa Ibom State to an interactive session.
He spoke on the Niger Delta Development and his stewardship as the MD of the commission.
Nsima said, over 8000 projects have been embarked on by the NDDC with a minimal number, fewer than 100 ongoing or completed. The NDDC under his watch has witnessed tremendous breakthroughs in all areas, as companies and state governments are more willing to engage the commission to deliver in its goals.
On the claims of some state governments claiming NDDC projects, he said, NDDC contractors have been advised to put signage on any of their projects.
Speaking about his rumoured 2019 Governorship ambition, the MD said, it was too early to talk about the elections, as he has a mandate to deliver in the Niger Delta Region.
The MD also reacted to his non visitation to the Akwa Ibom State Government, that the commission has written to the Governor and whenever he gives them a date to come, they will honour it.
According to the MD, he has designed a roadmap where successive administrations at the commission will follow, to implement fully, the NDDC new master plan.
