A news report suggesting that the lawmaker representing Eket State constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly,Hon.David Lawrence,said, “he and his colleagues received 2.5million monthly as running cost” is another falsehood, aimed at ridiculing the House Member, and bringing the Assembly to disrepute.
It is a fact that, Hon.David Lawrence, does not speak for the Assembly, and would not have assumed the position of a Spokesman, when there are hierarchies in the House.
The mischievous story, which seeks to cause acrimony, is yet a ploy by an alleged coordination of individuals who are bent on embarking on a futile journey to tarnish the image of David Lawrence.
The lawmaker had stated what accrues to him on a personal note, and had said, he doles out about N1.2 Million to over thirty of his constituents on monthly basis, as part of his empowerment.
David Lawrence has not been self centered as erroneously presented, and has also stated that, he will publicly brief and empower Ekid people in the shortest possible of time.
On the alleged 3.5million Naira running cost by the leadership of the Assembly, this also reflects the imagination of the writer.
