Reports reaching Trail Reporters says, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has invited the widow and children of Joe Blankson to Governmentt House.
According to earlier reports, Joe, who saved 13 persons in a capsized boat, and lost his life while trying to save more, was travelling in the boat.
Governor Wike offered Mercy Blankson, the widow, a graduate in Microbiology, immediate employment and opened an endowment fund for the children.
According to Wike, Government would also assist in completing the family house. The labour of our heroes, shall not be in vain.
Nigerians have expressed happiness on the Governor’s gesture, saying, they are glad that Governor Wike acted and promptly too.
