Activities at the popular Onitsha Market has been paralysed, as traders have obeyed a sit at home order declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB).
The Major roads in Anambra are empty, with less vehicular movement. One of the traders who was found around the market premises say, their support for an Independent Biafra is total.
When Trail Reporters visited parks at Onitsha, some drivers said, they had incurred losses as a result of the order, as passengers have refused to come out for fear of possible attacks, in the disobedience of IPOB.
Despite threats by the Governor of Anambra, Willie Obiano, that workers who did not report for work will be sacked, a visit to the State Secretariat shows a total compliance with the order, but with military and police presence beefed up in major cities.
The media aide to the Governor, Ifeanyi Aniagoh could not be reached for comments as at the time of this report.
