AKEES NOMINATED FOR PIONEER NEWSPAPER EXCELLENCE AWARD

The Akwa Ibom Enterprise and Employment Scheme (AKEES), a brainchild project of Governor Udom Emmanuel has been nominated for Excellence Award by the Pioneer Newspaper, the oldest, State owned Tabloid.

A letter of notification jointly signed by Mr. Umoette Umoette and Elder Patrick Albert JP. General Manager/Editor-in-Chief and Chairman, Planning Committee respectively, and sent to the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Technical Matters and Due Process, Elder Ufot Ebong recognizes AKEES contribution to the society in the areas of human capacity development, agricultrual development, empowerment and other spheres of human endeavours which has clearly demonstrated in reawakening the spirit of enterprise and getting our teeming youths off the street and into work.

According to a release, the event shall have the Governor of the Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Mr Udom Emmanuel as the Special Guest of Honour, Senator Tunde Ogbeha, Pioneer Military Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga, former Military Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah, Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio(CON), Senate Minority Leader and former Governor of Akwa Ibom State and Mr Moses F. Ekpo(MFR), Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State and the Pioneer Commissioner for Information, Social Development, Youth, Sports and Culture as Guests of Honour.

The event is billed to hold tomorrow Wednesday, 11 March, 2018 with a public lecture and Award at Emerald Event Centre, Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo during the 30th Anniversary of the Pioneer Newspaper.
