Despite the jamboree that trailed the distribution of items at the constituency briefing and empowerment of Usoro Akpanusoh, the Member representing Esit Eket/Ibeno State constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, findings revealed that, most of the items were materials Usoro had collected from the Niger Delta Commission(NDDC) in 2016, which was facilitated by Bassey Dan Abia, the former Managing Director of the Commission.
It could be recollected that, our medium had reported how Usoro had allegedly scammed his constituents with the supposed items In April 2016, but had taken them back to his house after the event.
Part of the NDDC items redistributed by Akpanusoh were speed boats, sewing machines, dryers, etc.
We authoritatively gathered that, on Thursday, April 5, 2018, the Esit Eket/Ibeno House Member was reportedly seen in Nsima Ekere’s house, where he was alleged to have been soliciting for the All Progressives Congress(APC) House of Assembly ticket for his re-election in 2019, from the NDDC helmsman. Usoro we also gathered, saw Ibanga Etang and Bassey Dan Abia Jnr at Nsima’s place.
Reliable sources said, Nsima Ekere clearly told Akpanusoh, that he told Usoro to decamp to the APC long ago, but he refused. The Esit Eket/Ibeno ticket is for Ibanga Etang, and not for you. Nsima was quoted as saying.
Trail Reporters findings also shows that, on the 28th of December,2017, Usoro had convened a meeting of APC stalwarts at Mr.J Asubop’s house at Ewet housing, where Bassey Itama, a former Mobil staff and an APC Chieftain was said to have abused Governor Udom Emmanuel, in the presence of the House Member.
Sources say, it was only the chapter chairman that defended Udom. Queries were raised, why Usoro convened a meeting at the House of an APC Chieftain, instead of holding the meeting at the premises of the political leader of Esit Eket, Elder. Benji Udobia.
On the 30th of December, 2017, at Bassey Dan Abia Jnr’s house in Ikot ibiok, Usoro was said to have held another meeting with APC chieftains where he later donated a cow, assorted drinks and N500,000 cash to them.
Efforts to speak with Usoro Akpanusoh proved abortive, as he did not react to a text message sent to him as at the time of this report, even as his media aide also declined comment on the issues.
