Trail Reporters

Barring any last minute change, Trail Reporters can exclusively report that, Cairo Ojougboh, a former Interim board member in charge of the Niger Delta Development Commission, will emerge as the Chairman of the board this week.

Reliable sources who confided in Trail Reporters said, Delta State will assume the position of the board, based on its rotational policy.

Recollect that, the inauguration of the previous nominees of the board was suspended, due to the nomination of Pius Odubu, a former Deputy Governor of Edo State, when the slot was to go to Delta State.

The recent position of the South South Governors, that the President should inaugurate the NDDC board immediately, and the 30days ultimatum issued by the Ijaw Youth Council, (IYC), has given birth to a new board, as the boys had threatened hostilities if their demands were not met.

Also nominated, is the current Sole Administrator of the board, Effiong Akwa, who is to assume the position of Executive Director, Finance,(EDFA), a position that has been ceded to Akwa Ibom State.

Other members of the board are to be announced this week, and their screening and inauguration done, to beat the 30days deadline by the IYC.
