COMMISSIONING OF SAPELE MULTI-BILLION NAIRA MAIN MARKET, JESSE BOROKOTU ROAD; GOV SERIAKE DICKSON EULOGIES OKOWA’s ADMINISTRATION

…CHIEF JAMES IBORI URGES SOUTH-SOUTH GOVERNORS TO INSIST ON RESTRUCTURING OF NIGERIA.

Chairman of South-South Governors Forum (SSGF) and Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Seriake Dickson has described the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as a visionary leader and excellent manager of financial, human and material resources.

He gave the commendation while commissioning the multi-billion Naira Sapele Main market on Tuesday 5th June, 2018. The Bayelsa State Governor said the Sapele market and many other ongoing, completed and commissioned projects across Delta State since 2015, attests to the proactive leadership and good governance initiatives of the Smart governor, Senator Okowa.

Gov Dickson noted that it takes regular brain storming exercise to bring about socioeconomic remodelling and attainment of goals; adding that Gov Okowa and his team deserves kudos for the enviable achievements so far recorded in infrastructure development, job and wealth creation especially youth empowerment for which nearly 5,000 Deltan Youths were trained and equipped to become bread winners and employers of Labour.

“I commend my brother, Gov Okowa for his good works in Delta and I am very sure that his second tenure shall be a remarkable improvement on the first; such that Deltans will marvel at the accelerated rate of development across the state.

“I urge the good people of Delta State to continue to pray for your governor, support him always, encourage and partner with this administration; for this is the panacea for greater synergy needed to bring to fruition the new Delta State of your dreams.

“The good people of Bayelsa State conveys their greetings and love to you Deltans; with the firm promise that the love and relationship we share shall be kept in watertight compartment so that the South-South States will be able to work together for the attainment of collective socioeconomic progress and development.

“Gov Okowa has been able to prudently manage the meagre financial resources to provide good roads, standard markets, built, removated and equipped schools and hospitals within three years in office anchored on the Smart Agenda blueprint. It is therefore safe to assert that Okowa administration is purpose driven, focused and result oriented,” Gov Seriake Dickson posited

Also speaking at.the project commissioning, former Governor of the State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori said Gov Okowa’s name is daily in the lips of Deltans because of the giant strides recorded by this government in all sectors especially human capital development through job and wealth creation as well as huge infrastructure development.

Chief Ibori, a long time political associate of Gov Okowa posited that the Smart Governor has improved tremendously in terms of quality leadership, and have grown spiritually such that these great attributes has reflected positively in his good governance initiatives in the state.

“There is no doubt that this administration has performed creditably well as can be seen from the numerous socioeconomic and infrastructure development across the three senatorial districts.

“I want to use this remarkable occasion to urge the South-South governors not to relent in their positive struggle for the ongoing agitation for the restructuring of Nigeria. It is a task that must be done.

“Devolution of power and resource control under regional governments remains the credible panacea for healthy competition among federating units such that each region can grow at their pace without waiting for the others.

“I congratulate the government and people of our dear state for these gigantic projects that were commissioned today. It is my candid prayer that the good Lord continue to grant our governor, Senator Okowa good health and greater divine wisdom to complete his good works for Deltans till the end of this administration on May 29, 2023.

“Let me also join the Governor, the government and people of Delta State in thanking our brother and Chairman of South-South Governors Forum, Chief Seriake Dickson for finding time out of his busy schedules to join us in the official commissioning of these projects,” Chief Ibori added.

Governor of Delta State, Senator Okowa reaffirmed his total commitment towards fulfilment of electioneering promises, adding that the projects were initiated by Chief Ibori administration.

He assured Deltans that all uncompleted and viable projects embarked upon by previous administration shall be completed in line with this administration’s “no abandonment of projects” policy.

“Delta shall have no abandoned projects. This administration is committed to the completion of all uncompleted projects because its Deltans and the government that stand to gain and benefit.

“The visionary leadership of our leader, Chief James Ibori prepared us to serve our people with great zeal. His administration initiated these projects we are commissioning today and I want.to thank him again for his foresight and great vision for the development of the State.

“The Sapele Main market is a multi-billion Naira project with 1,532 shops and four jetties. I personally ensured that prime attention was given to the project; I was here number of times during the construction up to completion.

“This administration shall continue to use the resources of the State to spread development to the three senatorial districts. I was elected to serve the people and the good people of Delta State I must serve diligently and without blemish, by the Grace of God.

“I congratulate us and thank God for giving this administration the enablement to achieve so much within a short period of time.

“PDP is one united family, and we are determined to complete projects initiated by our past leaders and governors. This is the way to go and will continue to do the needful and Deltans shall be the major beneficiaries,” Okowa promised.
