The people of Eket Urban, comprising of Urban ward 2, 3 and 4, has declared support for the member representing Eket State constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Mr. David Lawrence for his second term.
In a communique, signed by the Chairman of the group Mr. Umoetuk Bassey, and Secretary, Mr. Daniel Edon, it said, they have passed a vote of confidence on the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and the Eket House of Assembly member, and endorse them for a second term in office respectively.
“Let us make bold to say that when considering a candidate for the 2019 House of Assembly elections in Eket, we should not sacrifice the excellent performance of the sitting House member, Rt. Hon.David Lawrence, in terms of his legislative engagements, oversight functions, empowerment programmes and his capital developmental projects like the Eket Chinese international market, Reconstruction of Eket sports stadium, Eket Ibaka super highway, Reconstruction of the Qua River hotel, the Quality steel project, etc. Some of these projects are ongoing. These are formidable achievements that cannot be swept underneath the carpet.” the group was quoted as saying.
At the constituency office of the House member in Idua road, Eket, Speakers at the occasion, had praised the achievements of the Eket house member, and declared their unalloyed support for him, justifying that, for justice and equity, the Assembly seat, should remain in Eket Urban.
