UYO FEDERAL HOUSE MEMBER PAYS FEBRUARY STIPEND TO CONSTITUENTS

The member representing Uyo Federal Constituency in the Federal house of Representatives, Abuja, Hon. Michael Enyong, has paid the February stipend to critical stakeholders and constituents drawn from the four Local Government Areas that make up Uyo Federal Constituency.

Making the payment on Saturday in his Uyo residence, the federal lawmaker said he was passionate about empowering the people of his Federal Constituency,, and improving their welfare. He promised to increase the number of the beneficiaries in the monthly stipend in the future.

Beneficiaries of the monthly stipend are all the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ward Chairmen, Ward Women Leaders and Ward Youth Leaders from the Forty TWO (42) Wards that make up Uyo Federal Constituency.

Other beneficiaries are PDP Chapter Chairmen, Chapter Women Leaders and Chapter Women Leaders from the Four Local Government Areas of Uyo, Uruan, Nsit Atai and Ibesikpo Asutan, which make up Uyo Federal Constituency.

In the exercise, each PDP Chapter Chairman was paid Thirty Thousand Naira (N30, 000) as stipend, for the month of February, while each chapter women leader and chapter youth leader was paid N20, 000 respectively. Each Ward chairman, Ward Youth Leader and Ward Women Leader across the entire Federal Constituency was paid N10,000, 00.

In all, a total amount of N1.8 Million was paid out to the beneficiaries.

Present during the payment exercise were the member for Uruan State Constituency, Hon. Aniekan Bassey, member for Nsit Atai State Constituency, Hon. Mark Esset, member for Ibesikpo Asutan State Constituency, Hon. Aniekan Uko, member for Uyo State Constituency, Hon. Monday Eyo, and the Uyo Senatorial District chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Obong Okon Nsentip, amongst others.

Speaking at the event, the member for Ibesikpo Asutan State Constituency, Hon. Aniekan Uko, said the people of Uyo Federal Constituency are satisfied with the performance of Hon. Michael Enyong in the Federal house of Representatives. He called on the people to support Hon. Enyong in his second term aspiration, stressing that it is high time Uyo people saw the need to protect the prominent citizens in their fold.

Others in attendance spoke in glowing terms about the continuous empowerment programmes provided by the Uyo Federal House member and expressed their readiness to support him in his second term aspiration.

It could be recalled that Hon. Michael Enyong in January 2018 had also empowered over 200 women selected from all the Wards that make up Uyo Federal Constituency. All the Ward and Chapter Women leaders across the entire Uyo Federal Constituency were part of the beneficiaries in the exercise.

In that exercise, each of the beneficiaries was given a cash amount of Twenty Five Thousand Naira(N25,000), to enable them handle basic family needs or support their business transactions.
