Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on Wednesday paid a condolence visit to the family of the Former Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Chief Nduese Essien at his home in Eket over the demise of his wife, Obonganwan Ekaette Nduese Essien.
Represented by his Special Assistant on Humanitarian Services, Prince Nsikanabasi Umoekpo, Governor Eno described death as an inevitable end for all mortals and urged the bereaved erstwhile minster to be strong and find solace in the belief that they will reunite with their loved one in the resurrection morning.
He expressed the deep condolences of the government and people of the State to the family and appreciated his continuous support, praying that God comforts the deceased’s family and grants them the strength to bear the irreplaceable loss.
Responding, Chief Nduese Essien, flanked by his son, Essien Nduese Essien, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno, for sending his team to support him. He also recalled the Governor’s kindness and support during the challenging period when his wife was ill, and appreciated his consistent care and concern for the welfare of the Akwa Ibom people.
The condolence visit was attended by a delegation of dignitaries, including Wife of the Paramount Ruler of Eket LGA, Obonganwan Obonganwan Abia, HSA on Humanitarian Services, Mrs. Ime Essien, SSA on Research and Documentation, Dr. Essien Ekefre Ndueso, PA on Humanitarian Services, Mrs. Mfon Israel among others.
