…ADVISES THE GOVERNOR’S UNFRIENDLY FRIENDS TO REPENT, SUPPORT THE SMART AGENDA.
Executive Assistant (Communications) to His Excellency the governor of Delta State, Dr (Barrister) Fred Oghenesivbe has again debunked the false allegations by some detractors of his boss, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa; who recently published unpleasant articles in the social media urging Deltans to pray for their governor for deviating from his electioneering promises.
He posited that the governor’s simple life style reflected in his mode of dressing, humility and hardwork explains his positive moral status and committment to the sound universal principles and ideals of representative government, adding that it is mischievous for anyone to think that Okowa have been unfair to those who worked very hard for his electoneering victory in 2015.
Oghenesivbe in a statement made availabe to newsmen in Asaba further asserted that Okowa is well guided by the four pillars of proactive and result oriented leadership; “Is it the truth, Will it build good friendship, Is it fair to all concerned and will it benefit the majority of the people in a social milieu?”
He said those calling for prayers for the governor are absolutely right because God and the holy scriptures enjoined us to pray for our leaders at all times but that prayers for Okowa should be directed at greater wisdom, consistent divine inspirations and for increased financial resources of Delta State so as to enable him expand the enviable scope of development currently spread across the three Senatorial districts; North, South and Central.
“Its absolutely distasteful for anyone to say that power has engrossed the reasoning of the governor because he has done well for his immediate political family; stakeholders, core loyalists and have also extended his large heart of unconditional love to his political enemies and detractors knowing fully well that good governance is essentially about the rule of the majority and the rights of the minority.
“I urge some perceived friends and admirers of the governor to repent from the use of complicated political innuendos to paint the image and reputation of the governor in a bad light.
“Its not the best to claim to support Okowa and at the same time put out articles and propaganda materials that tends to contradict and question your loyalty to the SMART GOVERNOR.
“Political loyalty is a one-way ticket, its either you are 100% loyal or you are branded a JUDAS. Judas knew Jesus too well but sold out through greed and ungodly crave for worldly gains than the love for master Jesus and the Kingdom of Heaven.
“It’s a well known economic fact that human wants are numerous but the means of satisfying them are limited in supply, which is why Gov Okowa cannot in one day or within two years satisfy the needs; yearnings and aspirations of all Deltans, party faithful, admirers, loyalists and supporters.
“The APC national government is yet to fulfill a single promise out of the numerous promises President Mohammadu Buhari and the party made to the Nigerian people during electioneering campaigns in 2015.
“Gov Okowa was rated one of the best governors in Nigeria within two years in office by THISDAY NEWSPAPER, a reputable and globally respected media organization.
“The several endorsements of Okowa across the state for 2019 governorship elections is another clear indication that the governor remains focused and delivering on his campaign promises to Deltans.
“The SMART AGENDA in on course, sailing successfully according to plan and the good people of Delta State are the sole beneficiaries of Okowa’s good governance initiatives.
Oghenesivbe advised Deltans to continue to pray for the economic prosperity of the state especially spiritual intercession for financial increase from federal revenues allocations, adding that we must all deliberately pay personal and corporate taxes to enable government deliver more and more substantial dividends of democracy to our people.
