Reports available to Trail Reporters says, a Nigerian soldier has been reportedly killed in a community at Naka, the headquarters of Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State by some restive youths.
Rather than arrest the culprits, soldiers took laws into their hands and burnt down the community in revenge, a source was quoted as saying.
Nigeria has deteriorated to a point that civilians now live in fear of their security forces. We have become accustomed to insanity in this country.

How do you burn down a community because a soldier was killed? That is barbaric and utterly despicable. There are civilised ways of addressing such crimes.
The killing of the soldier is condemnable but burning down a community and attacking innocent people in revenge is intolerable. Rules of engagements should be followed. A Nigerian lawyer said.
But contrary to this, sources say, the community youths allegedly killed the soldier in a gruesome manner, and efforts by the military to arrest the culprits proved abortive as they scampered into the village and was alleged that the community leaders refused to cooperate with the military in arresting them.
Efforts to speak with the Army’s Public Relations Officer, were unsuccesful, at the time of this report.
