Reports from top sources say, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Uwemedimo Nwoko is embroiled in an alleged bribe.
Uwemedimo Nwoko we gathered, was alleged to have received millions of Naira, from the chairman of Esit Eket Local Government, Mr. Iniobong Robson, with a strong commitment to surrender three months of the local government allocation to appease the Commissioner for Justice.
We also gathered that, Nwoko has been masking under Governor Udom Emmanuel to perpetuate this barbaric act, and was quoted to have vowed to subvert justice in the ongoing case between Ubong Akai, a Chairmanship Aspirant in Esit Eket, who contested the last local government Peoples Democratic Party primaries with the current Chairman, Iniobong Robson.
The case has lingered till this moment in high court 2, Uyo, headed by Justice Ekaette Obot.
Reacting, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice said, the allegations are baseless and untrue. He also stated that, the High Court is not the last court, and he is not a Judge, and does not have any interest in the matter. He advised the parties involved, to face their matter in court and leave him out of it.
Judgment on the matter is slated for 12th of March 2018.
