Months of investigations by our medium, has proven that, the member, representing Esit Eket and Ibeno State constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Usoro Akpanusoh, had allegedly deceived women from his constituency with promises of fake and unseen loan scheme.
Fact finding mission to his constituency shows that members of his constituency are yet to come to terms with the deceit perpetrated by Usoro, and had uncomplimentary words for him, for using them for his selfish interest.
Sources who spoke with our Reporter said, on the 10th of April, 2016, Usoro cajoled the poor masses by presenting gift items, consisting of deep freezers, sewing machines, generators and other items meant for them. But that no persons benefitted from it. We learnt those items were from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Office, when Bassey Dan Abia held sway as the Managing Director of NDDC.
One of Sir Dan Abia’s nephews told our reporters that the items were procured by the former NDDC boss for purposes of empowering Esit Eket women before he was sacked by the Bihari led presidency.
We gathered that, the Esit Eket/ Ibeno legislator who was in custody of the items bought by Dan Abia for Esit Eket women rather deceptively claimed to have bought the items for empowerment of the people, but had not given out the items allegedly gotten from NDDC to the supposed beneficiaries. We gathered that he took those items back to his house, after they had posed for the camera.
It could be recollected that, during the alleged scam empowerment, the Akwa Ibom State Speaker, Onofiok Luke had openly told the people that it was Dan Abia’s NDDC leadership who donated the items, contrary to Usoro’s claim that he bought them. Onofiok went ahead to donate two trailer loads of cement to two women in Esit Eket and Ibeno, but Usoro refused to give the cement to the beneficiaries, two years after. Even when media reports from the office of the speaker had confirmed the release by the Speaker.
Some of the constituents in Esit Eket who confided in our medium said, they were challenging Usoro to show proof of who he gave any of the items to.
We are waiting for him in his much talked about constituency briefing, if it will not be another scam. A source was quoted as saying.
Some of his constituents were quoted as saying that he has not empowered a soul, since his wasteful sojourn to the Assembly, and had challenged him to show proof.
Efforts to speak with Usoro Akpanusoh on the allegations were unsuccessful, as repeated calls placed to his mobile phone, 070873129** were not responded to, as at the time of this report.
